On September 28, Lot 4 of the Upper Cisokan Pumped Storage Power Plant in Indonesia, undertaken by China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd. of Energy China, officially commenced construction. Representatives of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Indonesia's state power utility, the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) specialist for the World Bank-funded Upper Cisokan Project, local government departments, military and police agencies, and community organizations witnessed the commencement. The smooth launch of this lot marks the power plant's entry into a new stage of substantive construction.
The Upper Cisokan Pumped Storage Power Plant is a project of national strategic importance in Indonesia's energy infrastructure, with a total installed capacity of about 1,040 MW. Lot 4, which has now broken ground, covers the hydraulic metal structures works — a critical component of the plant's main construction.
