On January 22, the opening report meeting of the Vietnam High-voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Transmission Technology Application Research Project in which China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute co., LTD. (Energy China GEDI) participated was held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The Vietnam High-voltage Direct Current Transmission Technology Application Research Project is launched by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) in the form of international bidding. By engaging international consulting partners, the project aims to provide suggestions and solutions for shaping Vietnam's HVDC technology development roadmap and standard system.
Energy China GEDI is among the world’s few enterprises that fully participates in the research, consulting design and engineering construction of ±1100 kV DC transmission, 1000 kV AC transmission, UHV flexible DC transmission, and multi-terminal flexible DC transmission technology. For this project, Energy China GEDI cooperates with Institute of Energy (IE) and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (PECC1), leveraging the respective advantages to stand out among competitors and successfully secure the bid. This marks the first time a Chinese design institute has participated in a consulting project in Vietnam related to the selection of power industry technical routes and the formulation of specifications and standards.
